When I was a child, my routine was simple. Each day, I would write in my diary. It wasn't just about journaling; it was about organizing my thoughts, planning my day, and finding peace in the written word. It was my little world of introspection.
Back then, I had no idea how much writing would shape my future, but it started as a small habit, something that felt right and comforting.
As I grew older, my curiosity led me to explore different ways to express myself. And that's when I discovered the true power of writing.
Words have the ability to heal, to communicate emotions, and to connect with others on a level beyond what's spoken
Writing became my voice, the one thing I could always rely on to put my thoughts and emotions into the world.
Today, even in a world dominated by AI and digital tools, I still find joy in the simplicity of pen and paper. Sure, there are countless apps and platforms that offer quicker, more efficient ways to write, but there's something magical about the old-fashioned way.
It’s not just about writing; it's about staying connected to something that feels genuine and true to who I am.
When I started writing on platforms like Medium and Substack, I knew that monetizing these platforms in Pakistan was not an option. I couldn't earn money from them.
Despite that, I still find joy in spending time on these platforms. For some people, it might seem odd, but for me, it's my passion.
I enjoy connecting with others, sharing my thoughts, and engaging in the community. The financial reward might not be there, but the satisfaction of expressing myself and connecting with like-minded people is priceless.
While I'm not earning directly from writing on these platforms, I do earn from other sources.
Because let's face it—earning is important. But writing is where my heart is, and that balance keeps me going.
Do what you love, and you'll never work a day in your life. — Confucius
There was a time when I almost gave up. The lack of monetary reward made me question whether I should continue. But then, something changed.
I realized that my writing wasn’t just a way to make money; it was a way to nurture my mental health, to stay grounded in a world that often felt overwhelming. And so, I picked up my pen again.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
Passion isn’t something that can be measured in dollars and cents. If you love something, if it brings you peace and satisfaction, then keep doing it.
Don’t let the absence of immediate rewards extinguish your fire. Even if the world isn’t ready to pay you for your craft, the value is still there. You are growing, evolving, and making an impact, even if it’s just within yourself.
Yes, earning money is important, but it’s just one part of the equation. The key is to find the right platform, the right way to reach others, and keep pushing forward.
Your passion is worth more than any paycheck, and that’s something I’m proud to stand by.
Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful. — Albert Schweitzer
So, to anyone reading this, Remember:
Never give up on your passion. Consistency, courage, and staying true to yourself are the real rewards in the long run.
